In addition to our excellent horseback riding program,
some of our other onsite activities include: fishing for mountain trout
in our four ponds, trap shooting, archery, gold panning, dance instruction,
cookouts, wildlife viewing, hay rides, indoor game room, library, movie videos, &
a hot tub.
Fishing is great on the Ranch! We have four
ponds on the property filled by Echo Canyon Creek that produce 16"
to 24" trout for your eating pleasure.
The photography opportunities include wildlife such
as deer or antelope by the side of the road, turkey, grouse, eagles, beaver,
owls, coyote, elk, blue heron, falcons, prairie dogs and squirrels everywhere.
Also, on occasion, you may see a bear on the side of a distant hill. I'm
sure none will be disappointed to learn that we don't have snakes.
Our horseback rides expose all of our guests
to the most breathtaking scenery in the U.S. with mountains in all directions
- rolling hills and unique rock formations jutting out of the ground,
two babbling creeks which flow year round.
Western cookouts are part of the stay at Echo Canyon.
Our food is delicious and the
variety of cuisine will keep you pleasantly surprised with great tasting
dishes. As an added feature on the Ranch, our great western cookouts will
please anyone's tastebuds.
Other offsite activities include: visiting the quaint
villages of La Veta and Cuchara, river rafting, day tours to Pikes Peak
or the Royal Gorge, plus mountain biking. Only four miles from our gate
you can play the #1 rated, 18-hole public golf course in Colorado designed
by Tom Weiskoff.
Echo Canyon also has the privilege of being host to some of the finest artist workshops in the U.S. Visit www.artaspens.com for more information. |
